Hronis Racing’s Cistron and jockey Victor Espinoza win the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes
Hronis Racing’s Cistron, a Grade 1 winner of $ 768,719, has been withdrawn from racing and will be studing at John Harris’ Harris Farms outside of Coalinga, California next year.
The all-round multi-rated winner won or placed in 13 black events from 5 1/2 stadiums to 1 1/16 miles on dirt and turf, including wins at the Bing Crosby Stakes Grade 1 in Del Mar, the G2 Kona Gold Stakes and G3 San Simeon Stakes in Santa Anita and the Northern Spur Stakes in Oaklawn Park.
His father The Factor, a multiple Class 1 winner of $ 922,180, set Santa Anita’s current success record of 1: 06.98 as a two-year-old in 2010. He is the father of 29 stakes winners and has collected six harvests of nearly $ 35 million in offspring earnings.
Cistron is now available for viewing on the farm. A stud fee will be announced in autumn this year.
