Horse Rescue hosts benefit concert – September 11th, 2021

WHAT: Days End Farm Horse Rescue, a nationally recognized nonprofit animal welfare organization that uses intervention, education and outreach to ensure high quality care and treatment for horses, is hosting the Days End Farm Horse Rescue benefit concert with The 19th Street Band, whose proceeds go to our life saving programs for horses in need! This one night event takes place under the stars on one of Maryland’s finest horse farms. With popular food trucks, the Hops For Horses Beer / Wine Truck, the option to buy DEFHR swag, lawn games for the children and special twilight tours of the farm to see and meet our rescue horses, there is lots of fun for the whole family .

The 19th Street Band has kept the crowd entertained at festivals like the Charm City Bluegrass Festival, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival, and the Maryland Irish Festival. They play well over 200 shows a year and the band has packed the house at venues like the 9:30 Club, The 8 × 10, The Hamilton, and The Soundry. They were honored to open for country stars like Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan and Chuck Mead, as well as Grammy-winning western swing icons and Asleep at the Wheel.

The 19th Street Band is characterized by high energy and strong vocal harmonies and combines a constellation of Americana, country and rock with a touch of punk. They ignite the audience with their passion for music, their magnetic presence and their enthusiasm. With a weakness for horse welfare, they are a staple in DEFHR fundraisers. This talented group cannot be overlooked as they help the horses raise much-needed funds for their care!

The gates open at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 6 p.m. Parking is on-site and first come, first served until parking spaces are full.

Enjoy food from local food trucks Grilled Cheese Please, Rollin ‘Smoke BBQ, and Bennett’s Grill.

WHY: Stop by Maryland Horse Country for the night and watch the sun set over our fields as you rock to the music of the 19th St Band. Enjoy a cold drink and dinner knowing that the money raised will benefit the horses and enable us to continue our life-saving work in the community and neighboring states.
