XY Jet and Emisael Jaramillo win the Dubai Golden Shaheen 2019 on the third attempt

The Emirates Racing Authority issued the following press release on August 15th:

The Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) is aware of the latest developments from the United States regarding the alleged doping offense charges of race entrants and the reported admission of guilt to a charge against coach Jorge Navarro by the Department of Justice at the U.S. Attorney General’s, Southern District of New York .

As a result of the first report from March 2020, ERA stewards opened an ongoing investigation into the Dubai Golden Shaheen 2019 XY JET (USA) winner, trained by Jorge Navarro. All samples from XY JET (USA) both on arrival in the UAE and from the Dubai World Cup Race meeting itself, including a pre-race plasma sample and a post-race urine sample, were analyzed by a NATA accredited laboratory that Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) for drug administration, the results found no irregularities. ERA will endeavor to work with the US authorities to continue its investigation into this matter.

The ERA Rules of Racing require coaches to present their horse free of racing drugs. ERA takes its reputation as the premier racing authority seriously and strives to protect its participants from corrupt activities.
