At Silver Springs Ranch, a world-class standard bred horse facility near Harveys Lake, every day prepares for race day. The facility, which is located on 78 hectares, is dedicated to the training of harnesses. With its own 1/2 mile oval track, surrounded by open spaces, farmland, and extensive pastures, it embodies the sport of harness racing in the state.
The facility also has several publicly accessible events, according to its website www.silverspringsranch.net.
It will host its third annual PA Sire Stakes Races on Thursday and Friday July 1st and 2nd. The gates open at noon and the post office is at 4:00 p.m.
The complex is also available for weddings for up to 250 people, with Catering from Culinary Creations by Metz & Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
The work is also a 2021 Harvest Festival with the proceeds helping the United Way of Wyoming Valley.
Silver Springs recently offered a behind-the-scenes look at daily life at the ranch, from the stables to the oval track and the rigged harness.
