ROYAL RANDWICK

RAY THOMAS (daily telegraph) form: x2215

HULK (Race 6, No. 3 – $ 3.50)

Hulk rode in top form this winter, but without much luck. He was runner-up in three of his four starts in this campaign, including quick finishing efforts behind smart duo Malkovich and Madam Legend in recent starts. Hulk bursts into a race to win and gets his chance on Saturday as the Randwick 1100m passes and he handles wet tracks.

Value Bet: MAJOR ARTIE (Race 2, No. 2 – $ 8.50)

MATT JONES (daily telegraph) form: 2525x

HARPO MARX (Race 5, No. 3 – $ 2.80)

He is ready to win now, having done a quick final stretch in the last start and there is no real reason why he cannot beat this field at this stage of his preparation.

Value Bet: DAME KIRI (Race 4, No. 6 – $ 14)

SHAYNE O’CASS (Daily Telegraph) Form: x1293

LANCASTER BOMBER (Race 6, No. 1 – $ 4.60)

Put the writing on the wall for another second win on the resume when it started again with a quick final third.

Value Bet: SPANISH POINT (Race 5, No. 10 – $ 16)

CLINTON PAYNE (Racenet) Shape: x3x25

ZAKAT (Race 9, # 11 – $ 11.00)

Proven fresh performer who has been in the Godolphin racing system in spring and fall for the past 12 months so should appreciate July resistance. He is experienced on rainy ground and performs in Randwick, only four runs back Criaderas have come around the neck.

Value Bet: MONEGAL (Race 7, No. 2 – $ 13)

MITCH COHEN (Racenet) Shape: x51x6

LANCASTER BOMBER (Race 6, No. 1 – $ 4.60)

Expecting Tom Sherry to return a winner on his first run in six weeks at Randwick. Lancaster Bomber showed enough freshness to suggest that it will be competitive again in second place, where it has won three out of five attempts. He ticks the wet route box and is drawn to a leisurely run. There is a lot to like.

Value Bet: TRICKY GAL (Race 8, No. 7 – $ 10)

CAULFIELD

BRAD WATERS (Racenet) Shape: x255x

VIRIDINE (Race 8, No. 1 – $ 6)

Viridine is considered a top-rated runner for the age group in the Monash Stakes. His group-level efforts were solid in the fall and he did well upfront in Sydney.

Value Bet: CRU CLASSE (Race 6, No. 10 – $ 15)

GILBERT GARDIN (Herald Sun) Form: 22134

MALKOVICH (Race 8, No. 10 – $ 2.60)

Crossing your fingers Jamie Kah’s record is sorted by race 8, but if not then 1100m, the three year old competes against the older horses but the Sydney sprinter has the most advantages.

Value Bet: BETCHA FLYING (Race 7, No. 8 – $ 26)

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (Race Editor) Form: 94351

ZORRO’S DREAM (Race 3, No. 9 – $ 3.70)

His last three starts were all seconds and was last caught on the line by Express Pass at Flemington in a strong rating race. The third horse of the race, High Risk, won at Sandown during the week.

Value Bet: VIRIDINE (Race 5, No. 1 – $ 6)

GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun) Form: 14334

RED SANTA (Race 6, No. 7 – $ 3.80)

Christmas in July anyone? Was a regular runner in Sydney and hopefully can find the line here

Value Bet: ZORRO’S DREAM (Race 3, No. 9 – $ 3.70)

SIMON MOY (NewsRacing) Form: 5473x

GRINZINGER ALLEE (Race 9, No. 13 – $ 3.20)

Both are running at full power this time and are getting ideal conditions again. Perfectly placed to ice Jamie Kah’s big day.

Value Bet: METEORITE (Race 3, No. 4 – $ 6)

NICK QUINN (TAB) Shape: 1133x

MALKOVICH (Race 8, No. 10 – $ 2.60)

Malkovich is racing through the classes, bringing in 61kg to a dominant Caulfield win at the last start of his first Victorian run. Jamie Kah takes the ride on Saturday and you expect gate ten to get him to the top or just behind the speed and get him into the race similar to Lane on the last start.

Value Bet: JUMBO OZAKI (Race 9, No. 8 – $ 8)

SUNSHINE COAST – SUNDAY

TRENTON AKERS (courier mail) Form: 78143

STOCKMAN (Race 5, No. 3 – $ 1.70)
