Arlington Park in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

A report in the Chicago Daily Herald this weekend found that Churchill Downs Inc. had filed a total of at least four offers to purchase Arlington Park in Arlington Heights, Illinois, only one of which is intended to keep horse racing alive. This offer is managed by former route president Roy Arnold.

The Chicago Bears have also made an offer to buy the property, but the two new deals announced over the weekend would open up the 326-acre mixed-use property.

One of these comes from Chicago-based Glenstar Properties, which has a unique offering that would allow Churchill Downs to help develop in a shared risk, higher reward scenario.

The fourth offering comes from Schaumburg-based UrbanStreet Group LLC, and while there were few details, it seems likely that the group would redesign the website as well.
